About Probably Stolen​

Nobody at your counter is quite who they claim to be. The woman insisting she is a normal human could be an aug whose chip has gone rogue, a gold-plated cybernetic hand needs a proper appraisal before anyone names a price, and a small bottle of water you sold can come back to haunt you as a furious note about a dead friend. The setting is a towering space station where wealth and corruption draw the dividing lines, and your shop is a loan-bought counter run by a former scavenger. You authenticate cigarettes and rare goods, check water before it goes on the shelf, haggle, fence when it seems safe and pick which factions to cozy up to. You choose a trade before the first day, from guns and chemicals to water and farming, or you can start with nothing at all. The long-term goal is a buyout of the shop itself.

Trainers and the Rent Clock​

For a game built this way, trainers tend to focus on credits, days left until rent, faction reputation and the suspected crime level Security keeps on you, sometimes with item counts on top. Adding money is the mildest of these, since it leaves the people at the window as hard to read as ever. Freezing rent or suspicion changes far more, because those two are what make a risky sale feel risky. A sensible way to use one is to fix the single thing that bothers you and leave the rest where the designers put them. On Thin Margins, the mode labeled Hard on the difficulty screen, that might simply be the missing retail markup on every sale.
